Guild Charter of Defenders of Light
Behavior
1. All member of Defenders of Light will conduct themselves befitting their rank. Any member that is reported to an officer (if an officer then a GM) will be judged according to their actions. This applies to serious actions only (i.e. Stealing, racial profiling, continued grievance of other non-Horde characters etc.)
a. An officer of no less than three present will judge a case brought to them. These officers do not need to be in the same area. The memeber that is brought before them will be allowed to present their case, and why they did what they did. This WILL be done privately. It can either be in a raid (if more than 5 members are required) or party chat. By 2/3 vote will decision be made. This can be overridden by a GM, and no serious action (i.e. expulsion, compensation for loss, etc.) may be taken until a GM has approved it.
b. All members have the right to appeal.
2. All forms of appeal will be submitted in writing (via in-game mail) to both GM's. An officer report will be required and a member report will be required. It doesn't have to be long, but if the situation is too much for in-game mail, important details will be given in the mail report, and the GM(s) will respond when possible.
a. The decsion of the GM is final.
Conduct
1. DoL cannot control everything that is said in guild speak, but if the conversation becomes too violent, sexual or offensive, an officer or GM will have the right to stop it. Other than that, what's said is said. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however the calling of names (privatley or publically) or all caps talk is prohibited. This especially goes when discussing certain types of gameplay or class type.
a. Bashing of Horde is the only case where language (very low amount) will be tolerated. Please. Bash away.
2. Language outside of guild chat is not controlled. However, if word reaches an officers ear via witness of action (i.e. an officer sees a message in Trade Chat or General Chat in a major city that is extremely offensive) or an individual approaches an officer with a complaint, action will be taken.
3. Don't scewer the image of DoL.
Privacy
1. No member is required to give any infomation of their personal life. DoL applies to World of Warcraft and WoW only. No member or officer is allowed to share accounts or ask for their password or otherwise use what is not personally theirs. This is strictly enforced. If a member or officer is found to have been disciplined by Blizzard for such action, expulsion will be manditory. This can only be prevented by special review by both the Guild Master and Assistant Guild Master.
2. All infomation you submit to DoL or it's website is strictly on a volunteer basis. You can put anything appropriate, but you put it of your own volition and what happens to that info can only be controlled within DoL guild membership. So be advised.
Rights
1. Unless in cases of violence, extreme language or sexual misconduct, all forms of speech will not be infringed. No officer or GM will ban a member for expressing their opinion, unless such opinion violates the Charter.
2. All Members and officers have the right to petition a punishment of any kind. In this case the evidence will be reviewed and a decision will be made. This decision will be final.
3. All members of any DoL sponsored group have a right to blues or higher. However, the class must be in the current raid or group, the member must be in good standing with guild and has shown competant skill in instance and not have had an extreme amount of drops from previous dungeons. This will be handled on a case by case basis.
